Why This Galentine’s Meant Everything to Me
By Shay Hoelscher, CEO of Privé Products & Champion for Project Beauty Share
On February 5, 2026, I stood in a room in Spokane, WA surrounded by extraordinary women, overflowing generosity, and a shared belief that dignity is not a luxury—it’s a human right. Project Beauty Share’s Galentine’s Fundraiser wasn’t just an event on my calendar; it was a moment that reached straight into my heart and reminded me why I do what I do.
Project Beauty Share has always held a deeply personal meaning for me. At its core, this organization restores dignity through beauty—providing essential personal care products to women and families overcoming hardship. As someone who has spent nearly four decades in the professional beauty industry, I’ve seen firsthand how a simple act of care—a clean shampoo, a nourishing conditioner, a moment of self-recognition in the mirror—can be transformative. Beauty, when offered with intention and compassion, becomes kindness. And kindness changes lives.
Walking into the Galentine’s fundraiser felt like stepping into a living embodiment of that belief. There was laughter, connection, and an unmistakable sense of purpose in the room. This wasn’t about glamour for glamour’s sake; it was about women lifting women, about community showing up in the most tangible way possible. Every story shared, every donation given, every hug exchanged reinforced a powerful truth: when women come together with open hearts, the impact is exponential.
For me, participating in this evening was also a reflection of privé products’ ethos—Beauty is Kindness and Engine4Good. Business can, and should, be a force for good. Supporting Project Beauty Share isn’t philanthropy on the sidelines; it’s woven into who we are. Knowing that our products help restore dignity to those who need it most is one of the greatest honors of my career.
What moved me most that night was the quiet strength in the room—the resilience of the women Project Beauty Share serves, and the unwavering commitment of those who support them. It reminded me that meaningful change doesn’t always roar; sometimes it whispers through acts of generosity, compassion, and care.
As I left the Galentine’s fundraiser, my heart was full and my purpose reaffirmed. Spokane showed up with love, and Project Beauty Share continues to lead with grace and impact. I am profoundly grateful to stand alongside this organization and this community, and I carry the spirit of that night with me as fuel to keep doing the work—together.
Because when we choose kindness, we don’t just change moments.
We change lives
